JessicaJessica Michelle Chastain was born on March 24 1977. She is an American producer, actress and model. She is known for her role in films that feature feminist themes, she has received various accolades such as an Academy Award and a Golden Globe Award. Time magazine listed her as one of the top 100 influential people in the world in 2012. Chastain started acting in her early years. In 1998 she made her debut on stage as Shakespeare's Juliet. After attending the Juilliard School, she was awarded a talent-holding agreement with television producer John Wells. She was a recurring guest star in several television series, and took on parts in various stage productions. Following her film debut at the age of 31 in the drama Jolene (2008), Chastain had her breakthrough in 2011 with six film projects including the dramas Take Shelter (2011) and The Tree of Life (2011). Chastain was also considered for Academy Award nominations as a character in The Help (2011), where she played a aspiring socialite, as well as Zero Dark Thirty (2012) as an CIA analyst. Commercial success was greater with the science-fiction films Interstellar (2014) and The Martian (2015), and the horror movie It Chapter Two (2019). Chastain gained further praise for her role as a strong-willed woman in the dramas A Very Violent Year (2014), Miss Sloane (2016), and Molly's Game (2017), and the television miniseries Scenes from a Marriage (2021).
